Illustrative typography - A letter per day, every day.
36 Days of Type, is an annual Instagram-based project that invites illustrators, designers and other creatives to express their love of typography. Participants are challenged to develop one character per day for 36 consecutive days. For this series, I chose food and fonts as my inspiration. Each day I researched both different food types and fonts that started with the corresponding letter of the day (e.g. H = Honey and Hoefler Text). From there I narrowed down all potential options and cranked out an illustration in anywhere from 1-2 hours. Each illustration uses the font of choice as a base, and incorporates the selected food in a variety of ways.
I thoroughly enjoyed the daily challenge and interacting with creatives around the world. I was able to make it through the entire alphabet, until my day got too busy for numbers. I plan to finish up the series one day as another side project.
